8TPB Signs on with USRN, Adds 5 More Markets

8 Track Playback with Donny Osmond celebrated its 1 year anniversary recently by signing an agreement to join the pantheon of incredible radio programs offered by international syndication giant United Stations Radio Networks.  USRN will handle the affiliate relations of the daily feature in addition to the barter sales representation it has provided since the feature launched in 2007.  The affiliation with USRN joins Donny with one of his long-time friends, USRN’s co-founder Dick Clark.

Donny Rocks Chicago Daily

WLS-FM Logo“8 TRACK PLAYBACK” has added yet another morning show to its radio family: Citadel Classic Hits WLS-FM/Chicago.  WLS-FM is listed by Mediabase as having the 3rd largest audience of any Classic Hits station in America.

WLS-FM PD Michael LaCrosse said, “Chicago’s Classic Hits and True Oldies, 94.7 FM, is pleased to have Donny Osmond’s ‘8 Track Playback’ on the air every morning.  Donny provides interesting facts about the artists that matter to our audience along with some of the greatest hits of all time.”

WLS-FM takes one of the three daily 8 Track versions, the dry Donny voice track, and morning show producer Jason Dildine produces it in-house with hooks and actualities.

Donny was in Chicago just last fall for a memorable appearance on Chicago’s “other” media powerhouse:  the Oprah Show!  Click here for the touching Oprah.com “After the Show” footage of the Osmond family reunion in the wake of Donny’s father’s passing.

Donny Helps Rebuild Two Stations

Two stations which have recently flipped to Oldies, WZOO/Ashtabula, OH, and the first Hippie Radio affiliate, WHPI/Peoria, have both grabbed Donny’s daily feature the 8 Track Playback.  Fans (and sponsors) in Peoria can check out Donny during the popular “Scott and Gin Morning Show” on 101.1, while he’s heard on Magic Oldies 102.5  at 10:20a weekdays.

In honor of this occasion, we decided to bring back a classic of our own:  Donny’s appearance on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine from March 11, 1976 (photographed by, who else?  Legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz  of course).

Hey, don’t laugh.  We all looked like that in ‘76.  Let’s see YOUR Rolling Stone Cover from the Bicentennial Year (not done at a Six Flags Kiosk, that is)!
